Edify is a Shopify app that lets merchants bulk edit their product catalog — updating titles, descriptions,
prices, tags, and other product fields across many products at once, with the ability to preview and revert
changes. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information when you install
or use our application.
Personal Information We Collect
When you install and use Edify, we may collect the following types of information:
Shopify store data: Your store name, myshopify domain, and the access token and
configuration details necessary to operate the app.
Merchant account information: Your name and email address associated with your
Shopify account.
Product catalog data: Product titles, descriptions, vendors, product types, tags,
prices, variants, inventory details, metafields, and related fields that you select for bulk
editing.
Change history: A record of each bulk edit you run, including the previous and new
values of the fields that were changed, so that edits can be previewed and reverted.
App settings and usage activity: Your saved app preferences, plan details, and
events describing actions you take in the app.
Visitor information: IP addresses, browser type, cookies, and log files collected
automatically when accessing our service.
Edify does not require, request, or store your customers' personal information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Edify service, including reading your product catalog and writing
the bulk edits you request back to your Shopify store.
Store previous field values so you can preview a bulk edit before it runs and revert it afterwards.
Apply the limits and features of your current plan.
Respond to your support requests and troubleshoot issues with your bulk edits.
Improve, personalize, and expand the functionality of our application.
Monitor and analyze usage trends to enhance the user experience.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We share
information only with the service providers required to run Edify, and only as needed:
Shopify: We read from and write to your store through the Shopify Admin API.
RagChat: Our in-app support chat provider receives an anonymous store identifier and
a summary of app activity so we can assist you with context about your account.
Hosting and infrastructure providers: Who store and process data on our behalf under
confidentiality obligations.
We may also disclose information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes; to
respond to lawful requests from public authorities; or to protect and defend our rights, property, or
the safety of our users.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data only for as long as you use the app:
When you uninstall Edify, we immediately revoke and purge your store's access token and deactivate
your account.
48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends us a shop redaction request and we permanently delete your
store record along with your bulk edit tasks, change history, and settings.
We also honour Shopify's customer data request and customer redaction webhooks. Because Edify does
not store customer data, these requests return no personal customer information.
Your Rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access,
correct, update, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. You may also object
to or restrict our processing of that information, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection
authority.
Your data is processed and stored on servers that may be located outside your country of residence,
